Overview

RiverSpring Living is seeking a Clinical Educator to join our dynamic team for our RiverSpring Senior Living Community and RiverSpring Home Care Services!

 

The RiverSpring Living campus is set on 32 acres overlooking the Hudson River, in Riverdale, New York.  RiverSpring Living provides a full range of care solutions including nursing home care, managed long term care, assisted living programs, senior housing, rehabilitation services and specialized services such as elder abuse prevention and memory care.

 

Reporting to the Vice President Senior Housing, the Clinical Educator plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care services to residents and improving patient outcomes. This position is responsible for the education, training, and evaluation of both clinical and non-clinical staff. The Clinical Educator designs and implements educational programs, provides guidance on clinical documentation, and ensures compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

 

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 6pm or 9am - 5pm

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Educational Program Development & Implementation:

  • Develops goals and objectives for educational and training programs related to senior living, dementia care and community services.
  • Designs and implements orientation programs for newly hired staff, ensuring they are properly trained and competent.
  • Plans, develops, and leads workshops, classes, and seminars for clinical and non-clinical staff on clinical best practices, dementia care, regulatory compliance, and resident care.
  • Assesses ongoing competency needs and ensures training is up to date and relevant to current healthcare standards.

Staff Orientation & Onboarding:

  • Coordinates orientation and onboarding for all new employees, ensuring they meet established policies and procedures.
  • Provides one-on-one training and support to new staff and addresses any competency gaps through supervision and chart reviews.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Works with leadership to ensure all clinical and non-clinical staff meet clinical and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Contributes to the development of policies and procedures that enhance resident safety and improve care quality.
  • Reviews and provides recommendations for improvements in clinical education and compliance processes.

Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs and implements improvements where necessary.
  • Prepares and submits written and oral reports on clinical education issues to leadership.
  • Participates in studies and projects that may arise within the department, contributing to the continuous improvement of the organization's services.

Clinical Education and Mentorship:

  • Provides guidance on clinical decision-making, documentation, and care coordination for staff.
  • Serves as a mentor for clinical staff, helping integrate new staff into the clinical team and ensuring the smooth delivery of services.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Maintains necessary administrative records such as forms, reports, attendance logs, and educational materials.
  • Prepares and schedules educational activities, ensuring compliance with continuing education requirements and certifications for staff.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

Education:

  • A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in New York State or another licensed healthcare profession.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or a related field; a Master’s degree in Nursing or Education is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in clinical settings such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, or home care agencies.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role is required, along with teaching, mentoring, or precepting healthcare professionals.

Certifications:

  • Certification in clinical education, teaching, or a related specialty (e.g., Certified Nurse Educator - CNE) is highly preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to teach clinical best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting educational content and working with diverse staff members.
  • Ability to assess learning needs, evaluate educational effectiveness, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Experience in policy and procedure development and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Organizational skills to manage administrative tasks and coordinate multiple training activities.

This position is crucial to maintaining high standards of resident care, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting ongoing staff development and education. The Clinical Educator will play a key role in the integration and coordination of services, leading to improved patient outcomes and quality of care.

 

Compensation:

  • Annual Salary: $115,000 - $125,000
